BelgiumOrganisation: STeMMaps produced by European missionaries in China in the 17th century held an important role in the history of cartography. Jesuits are said to have brought ‘scientific’ cartography into Asia from Europe, making the question of whether or not European cartography had a major flood on East Asian maps during that period central.
