This exhibition provides an overview of European cartography of the 16th to the 18th century.
The focus is on the development of the modern world-view, which developed in the light of new geographical discoveries and astronomical knowledge. On display are maps, atlases and globes, and tools used for land surveying, astronomy and map-making. Many pieces are borrowed from the Berlin State Library. There is an accompanying richly illustrated catalog.
