Exploring Political, Social and Technological Change in the 20th Century Through Maps

London, U.K.
Organisation: A CPD event in partnership with the British Library
The 20th century was a period of profound political, social and technological change. Two World Wars, The Cold War and post-Cold War conflicts shaped the landscape. Population growth and revolutions triggered movements of people, revolutions in transport and communications meant that life would never be the same. Maps became powerful agents of change, influencing events as well as reflecting them. Maps have much to tell us about war, peace, money, movement and societies in 20th century history as well as providing the obvious curriculum links to geography. If you are a primary teacher looking to develop a stimulating learning experience based around history, citizenship and geography, join us for a one day CPD (Continuing Professional Development) course in partnership with the British Library based around their forthcoming exhibition.
Venue: British Library Conference Centre, London
